First Aid

A really good first aid kit sould always be available for medical emergencies around your home, work place, or for when you’re on the road doing some traveling. A really good basic kit should always contain these items: Some # 3 Cut Adhesive Tape, Bulky Gauze of the 4.5" X 4.1 yds. kind, some 2" Gauze Bandage, a Bloodstopper Compress, some Sterile Surgipads of the 8" X 10" variety, 5" X 9" Sterile ABD Pads, some Co-Flex Bandage 3" X 5 yds. Water Jel Dressing, 4" X 4", About 4 oz. of Eye Wash, Iso-Tone Neutralizer, some 6”x9” Cold Packs, a pair of Splinter Forceps, regular sissors, a pair of Lister Bandage scissors, a First Aid booklet, PVP Iodine Wipes, alcohol wipes, a few pairs of Latex Exam Gloves, a Microsheild CPR Mask, some 1" X 3" Woven Strips, 2" X 3" Woven Patches, a Trianglar Bandage, a Mylar Rescue Blanket, and several Sterile 4" X 4" Gauze Pads. Always keep a first aid checklist for these Items handy to make sure that your kit is as complete as possible.

A good first aid kit can easily be purchased online, but they can be rather expensive depending on how extensive the kit is. Most kits seem to have the price range of starting at around $50 for a Fanny Pack First aid kit. A fanny pack first aid kit is idea for small medical emergencies in wilderness/forest hiking and camping situations. First aid kits are great fundraising idea for youth groups, boy scouts, girl scouts, etc. There are many places to obtain various types of first aid kits designed just for fundraising events. It is also good to know some first aid treatment for your dog or cat if you have pets. Many of the same things that are found in the basic first aid kits for humans are also needed for emergency treatment of our four-legged friends when they get hurt, but with a few additional items like Vet Rap bandage, Dermicil hypoallergenic cloth tape, and Pepto Bismol. First aid kits for pets come ready made for just about any pet you could have. Whether it’s a Cockatiel or a Thoroughbred race horse they can be found through online dealers or at your local veterinarian office.

All kits should have the familiar bright red plus sign or cross on the case some where making them easily recognizable to anyone needing to find and use them for emergency purposes.
